The shooters were said to have started shooting at the FRSC watch group along the Igboukwu-Ezinifite-Uga street on Sunday, April 3.
FRSC representative, Bisi Kazeem, who affirmed the episode in an explanation, said the head of the watch group sustained serious wounds from the assault.
The statement Reads;
"A group of Patrol Operatives of the Federal Road Safety Corps including an Officer, a driver and two other staff on watch tasks have been attacked by unknown gunmen prompting the passing away of two men with one sustaining extreme wounds,"
"The Patrol group were directing routine watch activities today Sunday, 03 April, 2022 at around 2:45 pm along Igboukwu-Uga road in Anambra State when the gunmen started shooting at them killing two of the Corps work force with one getting away into the hedge and the group chief hurried to the emergency clinic in the wake of sustaining extreme wounds from the assault.
"The Corps Marshal, Dr Boboye Oyeyemi who was noticeably contacted says he decried the attack while condoling the families of the deceased staff, the Unit Commander and Staff of Igbo-Uku Command, and the whole Management and Staff of the Corps over the misfortune and implored their spirits to rest in peace.
The FRSC says it is working with the police and other security offices to guarantee that the culprits are captured.
Social media user known as Joseph Chudy also share on facebook.
He wrote;
"Black Sunday!
Two FRSC (Road safety) officials reportedly shot dead hours ago today Sunday, 3rd April along igboukwu-Ezinifite-Uga road.
Latest reports claim three were actually shot dead."
